We consult cultivators on environmental control processes and products.
Cultivation rooms run warm, humid, and densely planted, and every changeover resets the clock. At GrowDefender, we help cultivators manage bioburden through better processes and products.

Cleaning and sanitizing are not enough
Both are necessary and neither is optional. But a cleaner removes soil and a sanitizer acts during its contact time — and once the surface dries, it is a bare surface again, in a room engineered to keep things growing. Cleaning, sanitizing, and protecting are three distinct jobs with three distinct scopes. A complete environmental control protocol accounts for each one on its own terms.
It lifts organic matter, oils, and residue. It is the prerequisite for everything that follows, and it is not itself a microbial step.
A registered sanitizer or disinfectant works during the contact time on its label. That contact time is the full duration of its effect.
Three stages, in order
Each stage does something the others cannot.

Lifts organic matter, oils, and residue. Cleaning is the prerequisite for both stages that follow — a sanitizer cannot act on a surface it never touches, and the Antimicrobial Agent will not bond to a soiled one.

This stage reduces what is on the surface at that moment. GrowDefender does not currently offer a product for it. Use an EPA-registered sanitizer or disinfectant suited to your surfaces and follow its label, including contact time.

An EPA-registered antimicrobial agent. Applied to a clean, dry surface and allowed to dry, it imparts bacteriostatic, fungistatic (mold and mildew), and algaestatic properties to the treated surface. It is not a sanitizer or disinfectant.
GrowDefender Antimicrobial Agent does not protect users or others against food-borne or disease-causing bacteria. Always read and follow label directions. Claims are limited to those appearing on the EPA-accepted label.
